Gut Health & IBS Dietitian, Online Australia-Wide

Ongoing bloating, pain, unpredictable bowel habits or food anxiety can make everyday life exhausting, especially when you've been told your tests are "normal" and left to figure it out alone. As a gut health dietitian and Accredited Practising Dietitian, I help people across Australia get to the bottom of their symptoms and build a way of eating that actually works for their gut, without unnecessary restriction or food avoidance.

Whether you're dealing with diagnosed IBS, suspected IBS, or gut symptoms with no clear label yet, working with a dedicated dietitian for IBS means getting a plan built around your body - not a generic elimination diet off the internet.

Sound familiar?

- Bloating, pain or unpredictable bowel habits that flare with no clear pattern
- Feeling anxious or restrictive around food, just in case it "sets things off"
- You’ve been told to "just try low FODMAP" with no real guidance
- Cutting out more and more foods, but you still can’t exactly point what it is, and your symptoms still aren't under control
- Wanting real answers, not another generic "avoid these foods" list

If any of this sounds familiar, a personalised approach with a gut health dietitian can make a genuine difference for both your symptoms and your relationship with food.

Why work with an IBS Dietitian?

Gut symptoms are complex. What works for one person can make another person worse. Generic advice whether from Google, social media or well-meaning friends can't account for your specific situation.

As an IBS dietitian, I focus on:

- Considering the full picture, accounting for medical, psychological, dietary and lifestyle factors when identifying your actual triggers, rather than restricting broadly "just in case"
- Evidence-based low FODMAP support done properly, and only if necessary. The FODMAP diet is a short-term structured process with reintroduction, not a forever diet.
- Rebuilding food variety and confidence once your triggers are clearer
- Practical strategies for eating out, travel and everyday life with IBS or gut symptoms
- A focus on what you *can* eat, not just an ever-growing list of what to avoid

What a consultation looks like

Initial consultation - 60 minutes
A full assessment of your symptoms, medical history, social circumstances, diet and lifestyle, followed by education, a tailored plan and clear next steps.

Review consultations - 30 minutes

Follow-up sessions to track progress, troubleshoot, and adjust your plan as you go (particularly important when following the FODMAP protocol, during FODMAP reintroduction), where guidance makes a real difference to outcomes.

All sessions are delivered via telehealth, so you can get expert gut health support from anywhere in Australia.

Low FODMAP done properly

The low FODMAP diet isn't always the right first step for managing IBS — figuring out whether it's appropriate for you is something I can help with. It's one of the most evidence-based approaches available, but also one of the most misused: done without guidance, it can mean months of unnecessary restriction, nutrient gaps, and no clear answers."

Done properly, low FODMAP is a structured, short-term process: elimination, then systematic reintroduction to identify your actual triggers so you end up with the least restrictive diet possible, not the most.

As your low FODMAP support dietitian, I guide you through each phase, so you're never guessing.

Frequently Asked Questions

No - whether you have a formal IBS diagnosis, are still being investigated, or just have ongoing gut symptoms without a clear cause, I can help. It's worth ruling out other conditions with your GP first, but you don't need a diagnosis to start.

Not always - it's one tool among several, and not always the first or best step depending on your symptoms and history. Part of my role is helping you figure out whether it's actually the right approach for you before diving in.

Typically the elimination phase runs 2-6 weeks, followed by a longer structured reintroduction phase. I'll guide you through timing based on your response.

No referral is required to book, though a referral from your GP may make you eligible for a Medicare rebate under a Chronic Disease Management Plan.
